Day 18: Eux – Compagnie d’Improvisation

I pushed myself WAY too hard on Saturday, so Sunday became a day of lay in bed, read some books and drink lots of tea.  Stupid tonsils.

I did, however, get myself out of bed in time to make it to the 18:30 (that’s 6:30 for your 12 hour clockheads) show at le Bout Theatre performed by Eux – Compagnie d’Improvisation.

Bonjour, le Bout!

I gotta say, I was nervous about seeing an Improv show all in French.  But these guys were awesome.  They did long form, similar to how Un-Scripted does it, just without the genre addons, so it was one continuous story for a little over an hour.  I’d say I picked up on about 1/10th of the dialogue, but that was enough to let me follow the general story line, and honestly, I had a great time.

It was primary election day here in France, so the house was kind of light.  In talking with some of the cast over beers after the show, they felt the energy was low, but it really was a fun show to watch.  And now I have new Improv friends in France… who I’ve invited to stay on my couch if they come visit San Francisco… (SURPRISE TRISH!!).
